I was wondering about a SIM play rule. Are you aloud to use a playbook other than your own teams? Even though they wouldn't do that in the NFL?

I actually wondered this too, I'd like to run a different defense but wasn't sure if I was aloud too.

Its astonishing to me how many people don't know what Sim means. All we mean is, Simulation. More importantly what we mean is - realism and not playing like a cheeseball all game every game.
As it is stated in the very first section of the Rules - which you ALL are expected to have read....
"Diversity in gameplan, moderation of tactics and respect for your opponent."
Those are the three foundations of sim gameplay. Calling the same play 15 times a game is not sim. Calling a slant on every 3rd down is not sim. Abusing the same routes in general is not sim. Running 5 wide all game and scrambling with Tim Tebow all the time is not sim. There are limitations to everything certainly but we are trying to mimic what we see on Sundays. Granted, I don't want to see people abusing the shit out of their TE's like the Patriots do now but you get my point.
Diversity in gameplan, moderation of tactics and respect for your opponent.
Play the game of football, don't play the game of madden. Don't be setting up weird nano blitzes and wiggle blitzes and whatever the hell else kind of glitchy BS people play in lobby games. The point is to come here, play good clean games and have chess matches with one another - not glitch fests. The game should be like a chess match - carefully planning and executing a gameplan, attempting to anticipate what your opponent is doing and countering their attacks with attacks of your own. That's the type of football we're after.
I hope this is clear but if its not, please ask.

Alright, well I was just seeing if I could switch to a 4-3 due to the loss of Williams and such.

Alright, well I was just seeing if I could switch to a 4-3 due to the loss of Williams and such. What offensive and defensive schemes you run is entirely up to you - just make sure you pay attention to the rulebook when you go making decisions.

"SIM" can be defined differently among different leagues. But yeah it has no real effect on scheme and playbook selection

"SIM" can be defined differently among different leagues. Very true. Hopefully people understand our "brand" once we all get to know each other and play each other a bit.
