From Jeff:
Isnt this a bit ridiculous? Aldon Smith, during niners games, will line up at OLB and DE in the same game. I would know, because I am a die hard niners fan who watches the games.
I will list him here, because he will see time for me at DE. However mandating this is kind of ridiculous and isn't really sim. Aldon rushes standing up from the OLB spot, and as a down lineman.
Can I get a response here? I love SIM leagues, but lets not make it unrealistic.

Jeff - if you run a 3-4 defense, your nickle packages will line Aldon up on the line anyway. The kicker is your base will have him at OLB whereas a base 4-3 we would be lining these guys up on the line.
Theres a reason that we're doing what we're doing, I promise you. It isn't to screw you over or make things "as realistic as possible."
If you want Smith as a DE, move him permanently (if he's over 90ovr) or just play him at OLB and use nickle 245 in rush situations. OLBs can be subbed into DE situationally as well (per the rules) just not full time and definitely not in base defense.

what about DE to DT? I doubt this is an issue, but I run a 4-3...i dont like 3-4. I am going to move either ray mcdonald or justin smith to DT and put aldon down at DE. Is it acceptable to move smith or ray to DT, as both lined up at DT for the niners this year?
